Total Relief Usage Tips & Best PracticesUpdated 17 days ago
Step-by-Step Application Routine
1. Prepare the Skin
Take a warm shower or place a warm compress on the joint for 5–10 minutes.
This softens the skin, opens pores, and increases circulation.
2. (Optional) Light Exfoliation
Once or twice a week, gently exfoliate the area with a soft washcloth or mild scrub.
This removes dead skin cells that block absorption.
3. Apply a Carrier Oil Base
Massage a few drops of olive oil, jojoba oil, or coconut oil into the skin.
This conditions the skin and helps the pain-relief cream penetrate more evenly.
4. Massage in the Pain-Relief Cream
Apply a thin, even layer of your cream on the joint.
Massage in circular motions for 1–2 minutes until mostly absorbed.
If the cream already contains menthol/capsaicin, keep pressure gentle to avoid irritation.
5. Boost with Natural Enhancers (Optional)
Add 1 drop of peppermint or eucalyptus oil mixed with your cream before massaging, for cooling relief and deeper absorption.
Or apply a thin layer of aloe vera gel right before the cream for extra permeability.
6. Lock It In (Occlusion)
Lightly cover the area with a breathable wrap or soft cloth.
This keeps the cream in place, prevents rubbing off, and creates mild occlusion for better absorption.
7. (Optional) Mild Heat Therapy
If the product instructions allow, apply a warm compress or heating pad over the wrapped joint for 10–15 minutes.
Heat dilates blood vessels, pulling active compounds deeper.
Safety Reminders
Always do a patch test with oils/enhancers.
Avoid broken or irritated skin.
Do not combine heat with creams that contain capsaicin or high menthol unless explicitly recommended, as it can cause burning.
